About · Sydney NSW

We build it before you buy it

Durbacti builds AI phone agents and automation for Sydney businesses. Mostly trades, clinics, agencies and venues, where a missed call is a lost job rather than a missed notification.

Before you pay us anything, we build you something that runs on your own business. You watch it work, then decide.

Who you are dealing with

Jake Kirkman, founder of Durbacti

Jake Kirkman

Founder

Jake started Durbacti in 2024. Before this he worked in video, editing and content production, the kind of work where the same twenty minutes of clicking happens every day, on deadline, forever.

He started automating his own jobs to get his evenings back. Then people began asking him to do theirs.

That is the whole origin story. No grand plan. Just a low tolerance for doing the same thing twice.

He also comes from a cyber security background, which shows up in how the systems get built. The smallest amount of access that does the job, nothing stored that does not need storing, and updates that keep happening after go live.

How it works

Step 1

A free call

Thirty minutes on how your calls and bookings run today.

Step 2

A working build, at no cost

A small automation running on your own business, before you pay anything.

Step 3

You decide

Watch it run, then choose. No obligation either way.

Most agencies in this space open with a deck. We would rather show you the thing working and let you judge it. If it turns out not to fit, that is much better for both of us to find out before money changes hands.

The whole process, stage by stage

What we will not do

We will not tell you that your call recording setup is compliant.

We are not qualified to. Our post on call recording and consent says so at length.

We will not put a price on a web page and pretend it applies to you.

Cost depends on your call volume and how much the agent handles. The hiring comparison says exactly that instead of inventing a figure.

We will not claim a human answers your phone.

An AI receptionist is an AI. The answering service comparison is built around that distinction.

We will not publish reviews or ratings we have not collected.

There is no review markup anywhere on this site, because there are no reviews yet. When there are, they will be real ones.

We will not pretend we are always the right answer.

Both comparison pages carry a section on when a human answering service, or an actual hire, is the better choice.

The checkable bits

Most agency sites ask you to take their expertise on faith. Ours is inspectable, so here is where to look.

  • Trading since 2024. Registered as DURBACTI, ABN 65 411 512 123. A service-area business in Sydney with no premises customers visit.
  • This site is prerendered static HTML. View source on any page and the content is already there, before any JavaScript runs.
  • Its build fails if an internal link breaks, a schema reference dangles, or a page loses its canonical. That check runs on every deploy.
  • Every page is served with an enforcing Content Security Policy that permits no inline scripts. Open the response headers and read it. An injected script is blocked outright rather than logged.
  • Every FAQ answer on this site is published as structured data, word for word identical to what you can read on the page.
  • Our privacy policy names every third party your enquiry passes through, including the two that store it outside Australia. There are no trackers and no analytics on this site.

We wrote up what we changed on this site, and what we still cannot measure, in How to Get Your Website Cited by AI. The section on what we deliberately did not do is the more useful half.

About Durbacti: common questions

What does Durbacti actually do?

We build AI phone agents and automation for Sydney businesses. The flagship is a 24/7 AI receptionist that answers calls, books appointments and qualifies enquiries. Around it we build customer support automation, scheduling, lead generation, websites and apps.

Who is behind it?

Jake Kirkman founded Durbacti in 2024. He came from video editing and content production, started automating his own work, and now builds the same kind of systems for other businesses.

What is a proof of concept, and what does it cost?

A small working automation built on your actual business, before you pay anything. Your call types, your booking flow, the questions your customers really ask. You watch it run and decide from there. It costs nothing and there is no obligation afterwards.

Why would you build something for free?

Because arguing about whether an AI can handle your phones is slow, and neither of us can settle it in a meeting. Building a small version settles it in days. If it turns out not to fit your business, that is far better for both of us to find out before money changes hands.

How do I know the claims on this site are real?

Check them. This site is prerendered static HTML, publishes a consolidated schema.org entity graph, and its build fails if a schema reference breaks or an internal link dies. We wrote up exactly what we did to it, and what we still cannot measure, instead of claiming results we do not have.

Do you use your own products?

This website is built the way we build client sites, and the post above documents it honestly. Our own AI receptionist is being set up now, on our own line. We would rather say that plainly than imply it is already running.

What will you turn down?

Work where an AI agent is the wrong tool. If your calls are unscriptable, if the value is in someone being physically present, or if your volume is low enough that the setup would never pay for itself, we will say so on the first call instead of selling you something.

How quickly can you start?

Most builds are live within one to three weeks, depending on how many call types the agent needs to cover and what calendar and CRM systems it connects to. The first strategy call is free and there is no obligation after it.

Start with a conversation

A free 30 minute call. We work through how your calls and bookings run now, where they are slipping, and whether any of this is worth building for you. You leave with a plan either way.
